John Victor Nicholas was appointed to the Federal Court in November 2009.
Justice Nicholas is a graduate of the University of New South Wales with the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws. Following graduation in 1982 he practised as a solicitor until 1987 when he began practice at the New South Wales Bar. Justice Nicholas practised in commercial law, intellectual property law and trade practices law. He was appointed Senior Counsel in 2001. Justice Nicholas is based in Sydney.
