Consultation/liaison user groups
- South Australia - User Group Liaison Committee
The Federal Court Liaison Committee
was created in late 2001 to provide a forum for two way
communication between the Court and the Profession in
South Australia. It provides a channel for that communication,
acts as a reference group for discussion of developments
and proposals, and provides feedback to the Court on particular
areas of shared interest.
The professional associations' representatives
to this Committee are nominated by the Law Society. Currently
the nominees are:
John Wilkinson
(Stonyfell Chambers) and Neville Rochow (Howard Zelling
Chambers) - 2 barristers who use the Federal Court;
Tim Mellor (Mellor Olsson) and Michael Durrant (Kelly & Co) - 2 solicitors who use the Federal Court;
Dami Sheldon
(Australian Securities & Investment Commission)
- Law Society nominee;
Paul Boylan
(Boylan & Co) - country practitioner nominee; and
Frank Camatta
(Camatta Lempens) and Arlene MacDonald (Edmond Barton
Chambers) - 2 other nominees.
Any legal practitioner who wishes to
have raised with the Liaison Committee any matter or issue
within the Committee's terms of reference is encouraged
to contact one or more of the nominees listed above.
Meetings of the Liaison Committee are
held approximately six monthly and minutes are issued.
In addition, a summary of matters arising which are of
interest to the profession is generally published in the
Law Society Bulletin following each meeting.
