Notices to practitioners issued by the NSW District Registrar  

Listings of Bankruptcy Matters

From 2 October 2007, matters filed in the original jurisdiction of the Federal Court under the Bankruptcy Act 1966 will be made returnable on a:

Wednesday at 9am

in the Law Courts Building, Queens Square, Sydney before a Registrar. Any matters that require a hearing by a Judge will be referred to either the duty Judge on that Wednesday or allocated to a Judge’s docket in the usual course.

Please note that:

  • this replaces the previous arrangement for listing of bankruptcy matters each day at 9.15am and where matters for hearing by the duty Judge were referred on a Tuesday.
  • matters filed in the concurrent Bankruptcy jurisdiction of the Federal Magistrates Court will now be made returnable at 9.45am each day before a Registrar on Level 5 of the John Maddison Tower Building, 88 Goulburn St, Sydney and matters requiring hearing by a Federal Magistrate will continue to be referred to the duty Federal Magistrate on a Tuesday.
