Federal Court of Australia
Notices to practitioners issued by the NSW District Registrar

Abolition of backsheets

A Rule of Court was made on 5 September 1988 which has the effect of abolishing the need for backsheets on any documents filed in Federal Court General and Industrial Division matters. Practitioners will note that by Order 1 rule 11 of the Federal Court Rules, documents filed in bankruptcy matters will need to comply with the new Rule of Court (Order 41 sub-rule 2(8) and rule 3).

A copy of the Rule of Court is attached. Also attached is an example of a document which indicates the manner in which the first page of any document filed by a solicitor should be prepared.
