Executive Assistant (Vic)

Salary: $61,288 - $70,403

The successful applicant will be required to provide administrative and secretarial services to a judge of the Federal Court.
Hours of duty will require flexibility to fit in with judicial workload and commitments. Some interstate travel may be required.
Duties
- Assist the judge with the management of his or her chambers.
- Type judgments and prepare other correspondence and documents on behalf of the judge.
- Assist the judge as required in court and with the management of cases.
- Undertake a range of other chambers activities as required by the judge.
Selection Criteria
- Administrative and executive assistant skills of a high order including experience of at least two years in a legal environment.
- Ability to organise workload and achieve deadlines within strict time constraints.
- Interpersonal skills of a high order, including the drafting of correspondence, the ability to liaise effectively with Judges and their staff, court personnel, members of the legal profession and the public.
- Experience in or the ability to acquire in-depth knowledge of case management in a court environment including docket management, listing arrangements, chambers administration and judicial support.
- Ability to undertake less complex research tasks.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, flexibility and sound judgement.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an environment which requires tact and discretion.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of the Principles of Workplace Diversity including a knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity.
- Undertake intermittent interstate travel.
